What vile sanctimonious reprobates who are interested in history only to find villains so they can feel better about their own insignificant lives. Thanks for respecting those who achieved so much and left a better world for all of us.
Canadians of my vintage were taught that we stood on the shoulders of giants. We were taught the beneficence of our British Heritage, of being on the right side of history for hundreds of years, and of the moral, spiritual, and material benefits of Western Civilization.
"Governments can be competent, but if left symbolically vacant, they help leave the door open to the ill-informed or the ill-intentioned."
Very well stated, Geoff.
Tragically, when we lower our standards to meet the behaviour, or abandon the standards altogether, we are seldom prepared for what steps into the void.
